Church's Chicken (Church's)

After my indulgences in New Orleans, I will leave at 7:00 a.m. sharp on Friday, July 6 for Tuskegee, Alabama as the journey will require 5 hours and 40 minutes over a distance of 347 miles. I will arrive in Tuskegee between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Check in at the Macon Motel will be between the previously stated hours, and I will have a grand lunch at Church's Chicken afterward. Lunch will consist of an 8 pieces of dark meat with a large side and four biscuits for $7.49. My goal is to visit as many different southern restaurants as possible, getting a true appreciation for dishes popular to the region. At 3:30 p.m. after lunch, I will visit the Tuskegee National Historic Site. I will utilize my time here to explore exhibits at the George Washington Carver Museum; I will learn of Carver's story as well as Booker T. Washington's. The institute was founded in 1881, only to develop into a educational institute of high learning. The original establishment contains the school's two dozen earliest structures, giving way to historical depth and significant, emphasizing the necessity for continuous education. After my tour of the defining educational structure in Tuskegee, I will visit the Harris Barrett School, Inc. at approximately 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. The school stands as a historical monument, utilized as a two-room school for black children. By partaking in tours of the key educational components of Tuskegee, I can grasp the magnitude and impact Tuskegee Institute had on the city and the African American people. After my tiring day of visiting landmarks of educational reform, I will conclude the evening at Rib Shack, devouring a half rack of delicious baby back ribs with a side of poppy seed coleslaw. Dinner will cost approximately $25. I will end my night short in preparation for the next day's activities.
